More Whimsical Letters

Letters: If you look at some earlier "letter" posts you will see that I started making letters for family and friends.....and the saga continues. "T" is for my brother-in-law, Tim. "L" is for my dear friend and soul sister, Lucy. "S" is one for me!

Living Large

I am so in awe of all the beautiful art that is posted on the zentangle blog each and every day. It is always so inspiring and a lot of time breathtaking. If you haven't checked out all of the posts from the "Master's class" yet, it is a must. You can view it at zentangle.blogspot.com. After seeing the beautiful "large" pieces of art, I was inspired to try something large and for me that was vellum paper size 14x17. I aspire to someday be able to create a large piece on beautiful colored paper, like the Master class, but for now I will dream!

Slipping & Sliding

Ahhh, back to the freedom of zentangle tiles. No rulers or compass needed here.

Tangle Roulette

I decided to flip thru my pattern book at random and use whatever tangle I flipped to. The last space left was the smallest Bales I ever did.

Into The Wind

I was inspired to make some Zendalas after seeing some beautiful ones that were made by two very talented artists, Carole Ohl and Jo in NZ. Check out their amazing work-Carole Ohl at openseedarts.blogspot.com and Jo in NZ at nzjo.blogspot.com. On Jo's Flickr photostream she has instructions on how she creates mandalas/zendalas, which was very helpful to me. Thanks for the inspiration, ladies!

Seeing Stars

Zendala-I have been enjoying making zendala's and I can see how quilters would be good at these, since they are used to all the math and angles that go into making quilts. I am ready to get back to zentangles now, where I can flow a little more freely.

A zendala is a combination of a "Zentangle" and a "Mandala".
